  5. ACUCOBOL(R)-85 developers can now bring the power of 
  6. SunSoft's Solaris(TM) x86 operating environment to their 
  7. Intel(R) based systems. ACUCOBOL-85 offers compact, highly 
  8. optimized machine-independent code that is portable across 
  9. more than 650 platforms. It is the only COBOL compiler that 
  10. allows users to transport applications to virtually any 
  11. hardware platform with no recompiling.

  13. ACUCOBOL-85 compiles, executes and paints screens with 
  14. remarkable speed, running at maximum terminal speeds in 
  15. UNIX(R) environments. Its disk access speed is three
  16. timesfaster than other COBOLs in read/write, sorting, general
  17. I/O timing and other common functions. For developing
  18. windowsfeatures, ACUCOBOL-85 allows users to choose from help
  19. screens, pop-up and pull-down menus, three-dimensional
  20. shadowing, simultaneous top and bottom window titles,
  21. context-sensitive messages, and more. Automatic "hot key" 
  22. support enables users to open and work in up to eight screens
  23. or applications at once.
